The role of the Parent Advisory Board, as outlined in the bylaws, is to be an advisory board to the Pastor and the Principal
of Saint Hilary School. The areas in which the Board has advisory responsibility are Admission Policy, Public Relations,
Finance and Budget issues, Maintenance, Technology, Fund Raising/Development and Long Range Planning. In addition,
the Board consults with the Principal on long-term planning concerning curriculum and staffing needs as they relate to the
financial impact on the school.
As we set our goals each year, we use the three main tenets of the school as our guiding principles – excellence, spirituality
and community. Our board goals for 2009-10 are:
1. Cultivate a Full Engagement Community, where we have 100% engagement from parents in the Angel Fund, Auction
participation and Volunteer hours.
2. Create a Long-Term Strategic Plan for the school, which allows us to set goals for education, infrastructure and facilities,
and understand the resources needed to reach these goals.
3. Communicate More Effectively, includes improving and streamlining the way we communicate information both internally
and externally. We will be upgrading the SHS website this year as a key component of this initiative.
4. Provide Principal support to achieve short- and long-term goals as related to educating the whole child.
5. Unite the School and Parish as one community, with shared goals and a single identity.
