Volunteers
Our Library League members have been hard at work and making
great contributions to the smooth running of our library. Barbara Kuffner
and Cara Conniff were responsible for the FABULOUS "Tis the Season To Be
Reading" theme which adorned our library during the Christmas season.
They tirelessly decorated and made our reading space so very festive and
inviting! Students and faculty alike loved it! Thank You, Barbara
and Cara.
This 2nd quarter, Joyce Raffo and Cookie Carville have helped to
transform our library into a real James Bond reading adventure with a "Agent
007 License to Read" theme. Students
are really enjoying their mission to read more books as Secret Agents.
Thank You, Joyce and Cookie!
Also, Christiana Christou has been hard at work helping me to
properly cover all of our wonderful new books. It's a time consuming job,
so I am really grateful for the help!
Our re-shelving crew has been great at getting our books back on
the shelves with lightening speed! Many thanks to Liz Bourbeau, Christiana
Christou, Monica Gianpaolo, Susanne Astengo, Joyce Raffo, Katie Driscoll,
Nardrdee and Samsak Kamloon for your help in keeping us up and running so
efficiently! (if I've missed anyone, please forgive me. Know that I
appreciate everyone's efforts very much!)
Additionally, Barbara Kuffner has graciously agreed to assist
with getting the latest news onto our web-page. Thank You, Barbara, for
helping to keep our families informed and excited about what's new in our
library for our children!
Lastly, we owe thanks to Mark Joyce for his willingness to work magic in
repairing some of our students' favorite books which have been "well loved".
Thanks You very much Mark!

Many thanks to those of you who have joined
this year's Library League of volunteers! Our group is working on a number of
projects including developing a reading incentive program and possible
opportunities for our students to meet a local children's author or poet. We
hope these initiatives will continue to keep our children excited about using
our library and about reading in general! If you would like to join us in our
efforts, please let Lisa Veto know. As always, volunteers are more than welcome
to help out during class library time or during other library hours. Library
hours are considered “double time” hours toward your school volunteer
commitment.
