Junior High Volunteers I have formed a Student Library League, which
consists of Junior High students who volunteer in the library to help in many
ways by:
- reading to younger students;
- helping younger students select books to read;
- helping with our contest to guess the giant pumpkin's weight;
- sharing ideas for new books to add to our collection;
- collecting suggestions for reading incentive programs.
This second quarter's Student Library League was
comprised of the following volunteer students:
6th grade: Katherine Aycock, Whitney Hansen,
Danielle Hunt, Griffin Lundy, Maggie Meagher, Barry O'Brien and Helena Tietze;
7th grade: Michael Ash, Sophia Choulos, Erin
Geraghty, Jenna McFarland, Evan Muscat, Tandis Rafii and Nevin Snow;
8th grade: L.J. Adams, Allison Barry, Brittney
Bruschera and Olivia DiChiara.
Many thanks to our 2nd quarter Student Library League Members who helped to
get our library ready for Christmas by putting up our Christmas tree and
decorating it with book covers for ornaments! Our library looked very
festive with our "Tis the Season To Be Reading" theme.
These students have also helped in the library during the 2nd quarter by
pre-selecting some favorite stories to be read to our Tiger Cubs and our
Kindergartners during library time.
These terrific students were given a "Readers are Leaders"
certificate at our 2nd quarter Awards Assembly to show my appreciation for their
effort and enthusiasm.
Thank you, students!!! Your contributions really make our library a better
place!
